Building a Time Management System
Finding a time management system that works for you as an individual or works for your office or corporate team can be a complicated and gruelling task. It is also well worth it in the end as the individuals and businesses are taught excellent skills involving time management that they likely would not have learned anywhere else. A time management system can set up valuable working tools for project management and other time management tricks for anyone that is willing to learn.
You can turn around your own personal productivity and make it incredibly satisfying just by adding some time management techniques to your repertoire. Find out what takes the most time in terms of your daily tasks and find out what takes the least, then set up priority lists for those items and do the items which take the longest the first (or second, whatever works best is a matter of preference and practice). After you have completed the hardest (or easiest) tasks first you can move onto the tasks that you have left behind in a timelier manner.
A Personal Time Management System Some Ideas
There are also various theories about time management that play into the time management system you might end up adopting for your life. One such theory is the famous pickle jar theory. The pickle jar theory is essentially a theory that involves the metaphorical (or literal) placing of large rocks, small rocks, pebbles, sand, and water into a pickle jar with the idea that the priorities in our lives are represented by these different things including things that permeate into all other areas of life, represented especially by the water.
Learning to deal with the items that permeate first is one strategy by which one can function while others prefer to pull the rocks out of the jar first and move on from there. No matter what your personal style for dealing with things, it is important to develop a time management strategy for you that work with your life and your ideas of what the rocks are and what the water is. Functioning with a chaotic view will only hinder your plan of attack for life and cause you great problems in the future.
Regardless of whether you decide to use a pickle jar or any other metaphor to describe your time management system, it is important that you at leave have a system that works for you. Give yourself incentives and be inventive in terms of your time management and learn how to make your life your own again.
